壁の建設に関して西岸地区のカリキリヤ、トゥルカレム、ジェニン、エルサレム、ベツレヘム地区を含む多くの地域で、イスラエル政府がすでに建設し終わっている、あるいは、現在建設中である、通称「防御壁」と呼ばれている壁に抗議するために、この手紙を書いています。イスラエル政府は、壁の建設目的を「パレスチナ人によるテロ行為」から、国家の安全を守るためだと主張していますが、現実にはこの壁によって、日々の生活を維持するのに欠かすことができないパレスチナ人の土地、家、水そして木までが奪われています。この壁は、グリーンライン（停戦ライン。イスラエルとパレスチナの境界）から西岸地区の中に深く入り込んだ形で建設されており、この壁によって、パレスチナ人は監獄の中に住むことを強要されます。

「壁」は水資源やパレスチナの土地を奪い去るだけではなく、地域を孤立させ、それぞれのエリアを封じ込め、通常の物流やコミュニケーションを阻みます。

イスラエルによるこうした（「壁」による）動きは、パレスチナの人々と地域全体に深刻な経済的、社会的、政治的、環境的問題を引き起こします。

壁の建設以外にも、イスラエル政府は、パレスチナ人に多くの苦しみを与えてきました。イスラエルの軍事占領下で、パレスチナ人の移動の自由、労働の権利、病院に行く権利、子どもたちの教育権などが侵害され、また、多くのパレスチナ人が家屋破壊の被害にあってきました。これらの行為は、国際法で禁止されています。パレスチナ人に対する明らかな人権侵害です。

ただちに、壁の建設を中止し、建設した部分は撤去し、それにより与えた被害について補償を出すことを求めます。またイスラエル政府がパレスチナ人に対するあらゆる形の人権侵害をやめ、一刻も早く占領を終結させ、西岸地区とガザから、イスラエル人の入植地を取り除くことを求めます。

Dear the Israeli government,

Re: Construction of the Wall

I am writing to protest against the so-called "Security Wall" which
you have already built/are building in different areas including
Qalqiliya,Tulkarem, Jenin, Jerusalem and Bethlehem regions of the
West Bank.  Although you have insisted that the purpose of
building this wall is to protect "national security" from the so-
called "Palestinian terrorist attacks", actually the wall has
confiscated Palestinians' land, houses, water and trees etc which
are essential for people to maintain their lives. The wall is being
built on Palestinians' land far beyond from the Green Line
inside the West Bank. The wall forces Palestinians to live in a
prison.  

Palestinian farmers have a right to farm on their own land. I cannot
find any reason why they have to ask the Israeli army for
permission to go to their own land to cultivate. Building of the wall
has destroyed Palestinians' daily lives and has denied their basic
rights to live as human beings.

Besides confiscation of water and land, the wall encloses and
isolates each region, and blocks normal distribution of goods 
and communication.

These actions by the State of Israel can cause serious economic, 
social, political and environmental damage against Palestinians 
and the whole region.

Furthermore, apart from construction of the wall, you have
inflicted various sufferings on Palestinians.  Under Israeli military
occupation, Palestinians' freedom of movement, a right to work, a
right to access to hospitals, children's right to have education
have been violated, and many Palestinians' houses have been
demolished.  These acts are prohibited by international law, and
they are apparent human rights abuses against Palestinians.

I urge you to stop the construction of the wall immediately and to
dismantle all parts of the wall already constructed. I demand that
you compensate Palestinian farmers for the damage brought by
the construction of the wall.  I also demand that you stop any
forms of human right abuses against Palestinians, end the
occupation immediately and remove all the Israeli settlements from
the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Dear Prime Minister,

I am deeply concerned about the Apartheid Wall , which is now under
construction in West Bank. In the process , Israel has annexed Palestinian
lands , destructed their communities and limited their movements , depriving
residents of their right to thier work , education and medical treatment.
Building of the wall has destroyed Palestinians' daily lives and has denied
their basic rights to live as human beings.

I urge you to stop constructing the Wall immediately and to dismantle the
wall which has already been constructed. I demand that you compensate
Palestinian farmers for the damage brought by the Wall. As a member of
international society I can never allow your illegal actions in the Occupeid
Territories. Remember that there is no profit for you to oppress the other
people in violation of international laws.

Dear President,

I am writing to request that you require Israel to halt building
the Apartheid Wall. While the border between Israel and Palestine
has yet to be negotiated, the Wall is creating a defacto border
appropriating 10-15% of arable Palestinian land. In addition,
thousands of Palestinians are in danger of losing their livelihoods,
thus creating a situation in which they will be forced from their
communities to find sustainable living. Such "voluntary" ethnic
cleansing practices are creating a humanitarian disaster and are
in violation of international law. I urge you to require that Israel
halt the construction of the Apartheid Wall as part of the first stage
requirements of the Road Map to Peace.
